Take Control of Podcasting on the Mac

Now in my tenth year of being a podcaster, it is by no means surprising that one of the topics I’m asked about over and over again is how to start podcasting. I always recommend starting off with the minimum essentials and then slowly building up your gear as you go along. In other words, don’t make a huge investment in hardware and software initially. You can always upgrade and enhance your set up as you go along. This way, if you find it is something that isn’t for you or perhaps you simply don’t have the time you thought you would had when you first decided on doing it, you can stop without having invested too much money into it.

I Voted and Big Brother Knows It!

There are times when I don't like photography.

Today is Election Day and I voted as I do each year. I went to my polling center around 4:45 pm (trying to beat the rush that comes at 5pm when people leave work, I suspect others had the same idea as it was very crowded for an “off year”).

Though earlier in the day I received one of those annoying robo-calls as everyone seems to get during the election season urging you to vote for or against someone or some ballot measure. This one was a bit alarming because it is suggesting that it knew I hadn’t voted yet.

Is Big Brother watching you on Election Day? Play the AudioBoo I recorded about it below to see… err… hear what I mean.

Riding The Chronic Rift

Once again I had the pleasure of being a guest on The Chronic Rift ( @chronic_rift ) podcast with John Drew and Keith R.A. DeCandido hosting and with fellow guest, Chris S. Carothers. In this latest roundtable episode (126), we discuss fan clubs. Predominantly Doctor Who and Star Trek clubs were discussed in this episode. Chris shared information about the club, USS Richthofen, a chapter of Starfleet, The International Star Trek Fan Association, Inc., while I was there speaking about the Gallifreyan Embassy, the Doctor Who club I founded in 1985 as well as Doctor Who: Podshock.

The Cult of Cultdom

Cultdom Collective PodcastLast week I had the privilege of being on and joining my fellow co-host James Naughton on the Cultdom Collective podcast. The episode is a Gallifrey One preview show. Yes, the Doctor Who convention is a year away now at this point, my friends at Cultdom are getting a head start for those planning on attending next February in Los Angeles, CA.

Gallifrey 21 AudioBoos

For those that follow me on Twitter, may know that I sometimes use AudioBoo to record short audio reports while on the road. It is usually while attending a conference or convention or some other event, though not limited to such. (If you want to know more about AudioBoo, back in 2008, I posted this blog about AudioBoo: Boo! AudioBoo! Mini Mobile Podcasting!)

This year's Gallifrey One convention (Gallifrey Blackjack 21) was no exception.
